Demonstration of Form and Interaction
I observed and studied the form of the American Crocodile (an animal that is endangered in Florida, my home state) and identified similar forms in recycled plastic containers. This forced me to pay attention to the volumes, curves, and general form language of an organic form that I would otherwise take for granted. To represent the form, I made cuts through containers and adhered them to each other with brass brads and zip ties. I also afforded for an interaction with the human handling the crocodile head by putting the jaws on a hinge, allowing you to snap the mouth open and shut.
